Introducing Payments, Edit & Cancellations, and Takeaways

We’re excited to announce version 0.13.0 of Sadie! This release marks a major milestone with the introduction of payments and new SMS capabilities, helping your business simplify operations and secure bookings more effectively.

New Features

  • Payment Guarantees for Bookings

Sadie can now secure payments for bookings to guarantee reservations. This feature ensures that if a customer doesn’t show up, you’ll still collect the booking fee. All regular payment guarantee rules apply, including charges for cancellations made outside the allowed window.

This is the first step toward a more robust payments system, and we’re already planning future updates to support multiple payment types, fixed-price menus, and other advanced booking options.

Important Note: Payments are not compatible with temporary booking options. If you currently use temporary bookings, you’ll need to stick with the non-payment version of Sadie, which offers a call transfer instead.

  • Booking Management via SMS

Sadie can now send SMS messages to your customers, allowing them to edit or cancel their bookings easily. This streamlines the process and keeps everything aligned with your payment guarantee rules.

Setup Requirements: To enable this feature, ensure that SMS notifications are set up in the NowBookIt portal and that “SMS Edit and Cancel” permissions are enabled. Without this configuration, the feature will not function. smssetup

  • Takeaway Links via SMS

Understanding that many customer calls are for takeaway, Sadie can now send SMS links to your preferred takeaway provider. Whether it’s UberEats, DoorDash, or another service, customers can quickly access the link without the need for additional call time.

Sadie ensures phone numbers are checked and validated in the portal preventing any issues with valid phone numbers for call transfers.

Bug Fixes

  • Transfer Call Tool Prompt Fixed Sadie no longer prompts for call transfers if the Transfer Call tool is disabled.
  • Knowledge Base Restored We fixed an issue where the knowledge base wouldn’t load, so your calls can now resolve more smoothly.
  • Greeting Voices Aligned Greetings now use the correct voices for each tenant, ensuring they sound just as you’d expect.

Enhanced Call Tagging Released

We are thrilled to announce the launch of version 0.9.0 of Sadie! This release introduces improved call tagging categories, enabling more accurate classification and better insights into call types.

Starting this week, our new call categorization system will roll out, allowing you to gain deeper insights into each interaction type. The update enhances how calls are logged, making it simple to see which calls end with bookings, transfers, or quick information exchanges.

New Features

Call Tagging Enhancements

The call tagging system has been restructured to improve classification accuracy and enhance reporting. Our system now supports a more detailed categorization of calls, enabling better tracking of conversation outcomes and analytics. Each call is automatically tagged into one of the following categories:

  • NO INTERACTION: Calls where no meaningful conversation occurred (e.g., complete silence or immediate disconnection).
  • CALL TRANSFERRED: Calls where the AI transferred the conversation to a human agent with explicit indication.
  • BOOKING: Successful reservation with complete details and confirmation.
  • NO AVAILABILITY: Customer requested a booking, but the desired time was unavailable.
  • Q&A: Successful information exchange without a booking.
  • OTHER: Conversations that don’t fit into the above categories, including incomplete or abandoned bookings.

This change aims to streamline data analysis and improve customer support experiences by categorizing each call more accurately.

  • Users now see a pop-up option to save credentials upon logging into the Portal.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue with the timezone dropdown in to ensure correct time selection.
  • Fix an issue with Sadie calling the Knowledge Base and saying "Oh"

Onboarding Improvements

We are thrilled to announce the launch of version 0.8.0 of Sadie! The ability for Sadie to accept payment has been deployed in our QA environment and is currently undergoing testing.

As we prep for this feature we have reworked our onboarding process allowing our customers to start using the platform in a fraction of the time.

Later on this week you will see a version deployment rolling out our new call categories allowing you to better understand the types of calls you are receiving.

  • "Call Transfers" improved. The call transfer settings have bee resized allowing you to see and change the transfer settings more easily.
  • Customer onboarding has been reworked allowing our CSM team to get you on the platform faster.
  • Our Portal now loads data much faster so you can spend less time going over data and more time running your business.

  • Fixed an issue when + is not added to a transfer number causing the transfer case to fail.

Quality of Life Improvements + Behind The Scenes

We are thrilled to announce the launch of version 0.7.0 of Sadie! As we prep for our payments feature release, we have been working on some quality of life improvements to handle some edge cases with bookings.

Internally we have released a new alerts system with better details to better QA calls and improve Sadie's conversation flow with a caller.

  • "Working Hours" improved. You can now easily add multiple service times within a day

We are thrilled to announce the launch of version 0.6.0 of Sadie! This release includes a variety of improvements around the knowledgebase and Sadie's abilityto listen to instructions.

Renamed "Menu" to "Knowledge Base" in the sidebar"

  • Sadie now handles memory recall better and can remember more information about your venue. This also comes as an added bonus of consistency in her following instructions.
  • Files now can be edited directly and saved so you no longer have to upload a new file each time.

  • Sadie is much better at ending calls when a caller no longer needs help
  • Sadie is much better at detecting transfer cases
